    Small correction: Just realised I wrote 'pendantic' instead of 'pedantic' in my original comment. I guess the pandemic is affected my spelling.

    The import part of the story format to me is actually the 'As a' and 'So that' part because it helps keeps things in perspective. 'As a user' is normally bad practice because you don't know the exact user you're talking about here. 'So that' tells you why on earth people want the feature in the first place.

    Thanks Deita. Obviously the way each organisation writes their stories is up to them. I thought I would give my feedback from my experience of Agile. If it makes more sense to you then good, but by all means, you don't have to feel obliged to mirror exactly what I wrote!

    To answer your question about updating in bulk. For me personally, it's test script maintenance. The current process means I have to manually go to each test case individually and update them one by one on TM4J.

    Having a local copy means I can just go to the spreadsheet, update them all and import all those changes to TM4J.

    Hi Phil,

    Thanks for this feedback. I've made some changes here.

    For this one, is there something specific you're looking to updating in bulk?

    I recommend writing it as:

    As a tester or test manager
    I want to import and update test cases in bulk

    So that I am able save time on managing test cases

    Acceptance Criteria:

    <Detail goes here>

    Sorry to be pendantic, I see too many user stories written as

    As a user, I want < some goal > so that <the same goal previously written>

    instead of

    As a < type of user >, I want < some goal > so that < some reason or business benefit >.
